Investors site Kwara for modern livestock market

Kwara State has been promised a contemporary international livestock market by a Malaysian firm, Havana Marni SDN BHD.

The disclosure was made available to newsmen by the leader of the team, Mr Datuk  Uthman Rozaidi, while leading members of his team on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin’s palace, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.

The state capital, Ilorin has been sited for the market and according to the team lead, Rozaidi: “Once the project is completed, the market is expected to be the largest livestock souk in Africa.”

Rozaidi stated that Malaysia is blessed with investment opportunities which include technology to improve palm tree planting and palm oil processing, which could positively develop the state’s economy.

He also explained that Malaysia is today, the largest palm oil producer in the world and took the palm kernel from Nigeria in the eighties.

On the other hand, the Emir expressed the determination of the people of Ilorin and Kwara State to partner with, and cooperate with prospective investors in the state to ensure the community grows industrially.

His Highness commended the state for being one of the most peaceful states in the country, while commenting on the investors question on security.

He further allayed the fears of the investors over misleading information about insecurity in the country.
